=>Jenis teks yang bertujuan menerangkan bagaimana membuat sesuatu / melakukan sesuatu berdasarkan serangkaian langkah/kegiatan

Tujuan Komunikatif

Untuk menjelaskan bagaimana sesuatu dilaksanakan dengan melewati beberapa langkah/kegiatan

Struktur Teks(Generic Structure)

·         Aim/Goal/Pupose/Title (Tujuan/Judul)

=>Berisi informasi mengenai tujuan dalam pembuatan/pengoperasian sesuatu

·         Tools/Equipment (Alat/Peralatan) dan Materials/Ingridients (Bahan)

=>Berisi  informasi tentang bahan-bahan yang digunakan dalam membuat sesuatu

Notes:

Ada beberapa jenis procedure text yang tidak membutuhkan material

-Procedure text yang mejelaskan bagaimana sesuatu bekerja/bagaimana cara melakukan instruksi secara manual

Contoh: How to use video game , how to use tape recorder

-Procedure text yang menjelaskan bagaimana melakukan aktivitas tertentu berdasarkan peraturan

Contoh:Road safety rules , video game rules

-Procedure text yang menjelaskan yang berhubungan dengan sifat dan kebiasaan manusia

Contoh:How to live happily , How to secceed

·         Steps / Ways / Instruction (Langkah/Cara/Instruksi)

=>Berisi langkah/urutan yang harus dilakukan agar tujuan yang diuraikan pada bagian aim/goal bisa tercapai

Ciri-Ciri Kebahasaan (Linguistic Features)

·         Menggunakan Simple Present Tense,biasanya berbentuk kalimat perintah (imperative sentence) misalnya: -cut the apple into chunks –break the eggs

·         Menggunakan temporal conjuction. Misalnya: -first,cut the lemon –finally,add some nut

·         Menggunakan action verb misalnya: -cut the apple into chunks –break the eggs

·         Menggunakan adverb (kata keterangan) untuk menyatakan rincian waktu,tempat,cara yang akurat

Misalnya:-cut the apple carefully*keterangan cara(adverb of manner)

                 -boil the water for 15 minutes*keterangan waktu(adverb of time)

                 -put the mint leaves on the top of the glass*keterangan tempat(adverb of                     

                                                                                                                               number)

Contoh Procedure Text

1)

Aim / Goal =>

Planting is a nice activity in our spare time. The following is guided information how to plnt a chili plant easily. Here are the steps

Steps=>

First, dry a handful seeding under the sunlight. Secondly, put the seeding on the soil. It should be in open are. Next, wait it. There will come out the sprout. After that let it bigger. Finally, put it in another big pot. It  will soon grow bigger and bigger and give us some fresh chilies soon.

How to Make Cheese Omelet

Materials =>

Frying pan , fork , spatula , cheese grater , bowl , plate , kitchen utensils

Ingridients =>

1 egg , 500 gram of cheese , a quarter of cup milk , 3 tablespoon cooking oil , a pinch of salt and pepper

Steps =>

1.      Crack on egg into  a bowl

2.      Whisk the egg with a fork until it is smooth

3.      Add milk and whisk well

4.      Grate the cheese into the bowl and stir

5.      Heat the oil in a frying pan

6.      Pour the mixture into the frying pan

7.      Turn the omelet with a spatula when it browns

8.      Cook both sides

9.      Place on a plate, season with salt and  pepper

10.  Eat while warm
